Rodari Simpson a Jamaican born tenor is quickly gaining a reputation for his rich, colorfully fabulous voice. He has dazzled audiences across the US, Europe and the Caribbean. Rodari first began his musical journey from an early age of 8 yrs old where he sang with his childhood church choir at the Kencot SDA in Jamaica and soon became an Asst. Director of the Kencot youth choir. Rodari went on to formally study music and began vocal lessons with Noel Dexter of The University of the West Indies where his innate passion for the arts were heightened. Soon after, Rodari migrated to the states and attended York College where he pursued a degree in Music and Accounting concurrently. He soon went on to complete Professional Studies Certification at New York University.
Rodari’s operatic credits include cover role as Alfredo in the Bronx Opera production of La Traviata, and as chorus member in the production of La Boheme and The Rivals (Bronx Opera and New Rochelle Opera). Rodari has toured with The Symphony Chorus and has performed as a concert soloist in Handel’s Messiah, as chorister in Mozart requiem, Haydn Creation, Vivaldi Gloria to name a few.
At the beginning of 2019 Rodari made his Carnegie hall debut with CSOT as a featured artist performing music by African-American composers. In 2020 Rodari was invited to perform as concert soloist at the Black Box Theatre presented by Vermont Opera in Concert.
This year Rodari was a featured vocalist for Josh Groban at Radio City Music Hall and in August sang with The Unsung collective Ensemble at Lincoln Center. This was a first for the predominantly black ensemble.
